WHY NORTHWEST HEALTH FOR YOUR MRI
🩺 GP-reviewed, every scan
Every MRI at Northwest Health includes a pre-test review with one of our GPs. We confirm the scan is the right investigation, choose the correct protocol, and make sure your results are interpreted in context — not just emailed out cold.
🧲 Wide-bore Siemens scanning
Scans are performed on wide-bore Siemens MAGNETOM scanners at our partner imaging centre — 1.5T or 3T depending on what your scan needs. Quiet Suite technology means quieter, more comfortable scans, with extra room if you're claustrophobic or larger-framed.
👨⚕️ Consultant radiologist reports
Every study is reported by a GMC-registered consultant radiologist via Pro-Scan Imaging, one of the UK's established sub-specialty radiology groups. You receive a full written report — not just images — within [3–5 working days], sooner for urgent cases.
🔁 Joined-up care under one roof
If your scan shows something that needs acting on, our GP and physiotherapy team can see you the same week — in the same building. Most scanning providers send you back to whoever referred you. We can scan, report, and treat.

WHY £400?
Why £400?
You can find cheaper private MRI scans in the North West — some providers offer them from around £249. You can also pay £600 or more at major private hospitals.
We're in the middle, and deliberately so. £400 covers a GP pre-test review to confirm the scan is the right one for you, a wide-bore Siemens MAGNETOM scan at our partner imaging centre, a full consultant radiologist report from Pro-Scan Imaging, and the option of same-week follow-up with our GP or physiotherapy team in the same building.
Cheaper scans cut the clinical support around the imaging. More expensive ones add hospital overhead you don't need. £400 buys the scan, the report, and the clinical context — nothing more, nothing less.

ABOUT OUR SCANNING AND REPORTING
Where your scan happens — and who reads it
The scan: Performed on a wide-bore Siemens MAGNETOM scanner (1.5T or 3T depending on the protocol your scan requires) at our trusted imaging partner. Wide-bore design and Siemens Quiet Suite technology mean a more comfortable, quieter scan — important if you're claustrophobic, larger-framed, or anxious.
The report: Produced by a GMC-registered consultant radiologist via Pro-Scan Imaging, an established UK consultant radiology group with sub-specialty expertise across musculoskeletal, neuro, body, and cardiac imaging. You receive a full written report, not just images — the kind of report your GP or specialist needs to act on findings.
The oversight: Every scan is reviewed and justified by an in-house GP at Northwest Health before booking, and findings are followed up by our clinical team. This isn't a scan-and-disappear service.
