Blood Health Screen +GP
Private blood tests at Northwest Health provide a fast, discreet, and convenient way to gain valuable insight into your health without the need for a GP referral or long NHS waiting times. Designed with accessibility and patient comfort in mind, these services allow individuals to take a proactive approach to their wellbeing, whether for routine screening, investigating symptoms, or monitoring existing conditions.
The clinic offers a wide range of blood tests tailored to different health needs. These include general health profiles, cholesterol checks, diabetes screening, liver and kidney function tests, hormone assessments, and vitamin level analysis such as Vitamin D and B12. Each test is carried out by trained healthcare professionals in a safe, clinical environment, ensuring both accuracy and a high standard of care throughout the process.
One of the key advantages of private blood testing is speed. Appointments are typically available at short notice, and the testing process itself is quick and minimally invasive. Results are often returned promptly, enabling faster decision-making and peace of mind. This is particularly beneficial for individuals who are managing ongoing health concerns or who want timely clarity about specific symptoms.
In addition to speed and convenience, Northwest Health places a strong emphasis on personalised care. Patients are not simply given results; they are supported in understanding what those results mean. Clear explanations and professional guidance help individuals interpret their health data and, where appropriate, take the next steps. This may include lifestyle recommendations, further testing, or referral to other healthcare services if needed.
The service is also well-suited for those who prefer greater privacy and control over their healthcare. Without the need to go through traditional pathways, patients can choose the tests that are most relevant to them, based on their personal health goals or concerns. This makes private blood testing an ideal option for preventative healthcare, allowing potential issues to be identified early before they develop into more serious conditions.
Overall, private blood tests at Northwest Health offer a modern, patient-focused alternative to traditional testing routes. By combining efficiency, professional expertise, and a personalised approach, the service empowers individuals to stay informed, make confident health decisions, and take an active role in maintaining their long-term wellbeing.
Bloods Screen — Silver — £200
Bloods Screen — Silver — £200
A comprehensive private blood health screen designed to give a broad overview of your body's key systems in a single test. The Silver Bloods Screen combines multiple panels to help detect early signs of illness, monitor ongoing health, and support preventative care.
The package costs £200, including your private GP consultation, the blood draw, accredited laboratory analysis, and written GP comments on your results. A £25 prepayment is taken at booking and fully deducted from the package price when you proceed.
What's included
The Silver screen analyses a single blood sample across several key panels:
Full Blood Count (FBC) — red and white blood cells and platelets, useful for identifying anaemia, infection, or inflammation
Kidney function and electrolytes — urea, creatinine, sodium, and potassium, assessing hydration and kidney health
Liver function (LFTs) — ALT, AST, bilirubin and related markers, checking for liver damage or dysfunction
Bone profile — calcium, corrected calcium, and phosphate, reflecting bone strength and mineral balance
Lipid profile — total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, and ratios used to assess cardiovascular risk
HbA1c — a longer-term measure of blood sugar control, used to detect or monitor diabetes and pre-diabetes
Thyroid function (TSH and Free T4) — assessing how well your thyroid is regulating metabolism, energy, and hormonal balance
Who is it suitable for?
The Silver screen is ideal if you:
Want a broad, preventative health check
Have non-specific symptoms such as fatigue, weight changes, or low energy
Have a family history of heart disease, diabetes, or thyroid problems
Want to monitor known conditions between specialist reviews
Are over 40 and want a routine baseline of your health
How the test works
A simple blood sample is taken from your arm by an experienced clinician — typically a single, straightforward draw. Samples are analysed at accredited laboratories, with results usually available within 3–5 working days.
Some tests are best done in the morning, and a small number (such as fasting glucose or lipids in some cases) may require fasting beforehand. We'll send clear preparation instructions when you book.
Pre-test consultation and reporting
Your private GP consultation before the test ensures the panel is appropriate for your health concerns, age, and medical history, and that you understand what each result will and won't tell you. A GMC-registered clinician reviews every report and provides written comments on your results, placing each value in clinical context rather than leaving you to interpret raw numbers alone.
Clinical follow-up
A follow-up consultation is available from £50 (phone/video) or £80 (in person) to discuss findings, plan further tests, or arrange treatment or referral. Where a result indicates urgent clinical action, we will contact you promptly at no additional charge.

A good choice if you want a comprehensive, in-depth health check in one visit, have non-specific symptoms such as fatigue or weight changes, have a family history of heart disease, diabetes, thyroid disorders, or cancer, or are over 40 and want a thorough preventative baseline.
Important: cancer markers are screening tools
PSA and CA-125 are screening markers, not diagnostic tests. They can be raised for non-cancer reasons, and a normal level does not entirely exclude cancer. Your GP will explain this fully at consultation, and any abnormal result will be reviewed in the context of your symptoms and history.
